Hot Wheels diecast was first made in 1960 by Mr. Elliot Handler, before he had founded a company namely Mattel with his wife Ruth Handler who is the creator of Barbie. Mattel itself is a company that manufactures Matchbox, which is the predecessor to Hot Wheels. The first series of cars was launched in 1968 with models such as the Corvette, Cougar, Barracuda, Firebird, Mustang, Volkswagen, and so on. Seeing the success of the first series, Mattel produced the second series which was launched in 1969. And Hot Wheels continues to grow until now with various product variants that are sought after by its collectors.
Hot Wheels diecast entered Indonesia in 2002, the launch was enlivened with the longest game track in Asia (200 meters).
